Economist from Universidad de los Andes. He holds a Master’s degree in Economics and Development and a Master’s degree in Mathematical and Financial Economics from Yale University.
He has served as Economic Advisor to the President of Colombia, Director of the Financial Institutions Guarantee Fund (FOGAFÍN, for the Spanish original), Chief Economist at Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA), Director of Economic Studies of the National Planning Department (NPD), Secretary of Finance of the city of Bogotá, Vice Minister of Finance and Commerce, Advisor to the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Director of the National Tax and Customs Directorate (DIAN), and General Coordinator of the Alliance for Prosperity of the Northern Triangle Countries of Central America at the IDB. He has also worked as a lecturer at different universities in Colombia.
He is currently serving as President of Grupo Energía Bogotá S.A. ESP, the parent company of Grupo Energía Bogotá.
