Indigenous population benefiting from the 'Legado La Guajira' initiative, part of the Fabio Legado para los Territorios program, in the Camarones Natural Park in La Guajira
Legacy for the territories program aims to transform the lives of people living in rural and vulnerable areas where Grupo Energía Bogotá (GEB) operates, through training in key areas for the energy transition. The program focuses on generating measurable results in three core areas: (i) employment (job training and placement), (ii) entrepreneurship (income generation, networking, and associativity), and (iii) secondary education (skills for future vocations).
With a projected investment of USD 8.1 million through 2030, the program expects to benefit over 20,000 people. It is implemented in collaboration with local partners and prioritizes the development of market-relevant skills, helping participants connect with real opportunities for growth, inclusion, and income generation. The approach is participatory, inclusive, and territory- based, tailored to the specific needs and vocations of each region.
Between 2022 and 2024, GEB invested over USD 2 million, reaching 7,671 people through four initiatives: Legado La Guajira, Legado Cundinamarca, Todos a la U, and 100K Clima.
These initiatives strengthen skills and capabilities in communities within GEB's areas of influence, with a strong emphasis on employment, entrepreneurship, and secondary education aligned with the energy transition.
