We prevent and act upon risks

In the strategic map and in the map of our affiliates we have in mind the way to prevent and act in case of eventualities. Our proactive attitude will always prevent crises or lessen their effects.

Comprehensive Risk Management Model

During 2019 we approved and disclosed the Comprehensive Risk Management Model, which provides an approach for continuous and effective improvement against risks in a systematic manner. This model consists of seven stages: establishing the context, risk identification, risk assessment, definition of controls, implementation of controls, monitoring and review, and communication and consultation.

Results

  • We carry out risk analyses and the respective heat map of each project, in order to calculate the risk levels, mitigate the impacts and seek the greatest competitiveness.
  • We implemented the Comprehensive Risk Management System from the Strategic Planning Department. This will give us a global, comprehensive and strategic vision.
  • We carried out an exercise to review and update the risks levels of the GEB and its affiliates, in order to strengthen our methodology for assessment them.
  • We manage the risks of our projects with PMI standards, supported by the application of the Maturing and Value Creation Model.
  • We began updating the risk matrices by process to ensure their alignment with the new model and operational and organizational structure changes.

Challenges

  • We will update the risk matrices according to the risks, levels and impact and probability assessment criteria that have been approved by the GEB and the affiliates.
  • We will be on top of the implementation of the Business Continuity Management Model.
  • We will adopt a high standard technological tool that supports Risk Management and its integration with the Control Architecture.
  • We will strengthen the Comprehensive Risk Management Model, as well as its dissemination, understanding and implementation.
  • We will lead the integration and articulation of the Governance, Risk and Compliance models.
