Our 2019 Milestones

  • We acquired 100% of the shares of Dunas Energía, PPC Perú Holdings and Cantalloc Perú Holdings, thus entering the Peruvian electricity distribution business. The transaction was an investment of USD 260 million.
  • For the first time in GEB's history, there is an independent Chairperson of the Board of Directors.
  • Historical maximum for the share price of COP 2,280 reported in December.
  • We carried out debt refinancing operations for approximately USD 1.1 billion in GEB and Contugas and approximately USD 100 million in local bond placements for Cálidda.
  • GEB was included for the second consecutive year in the RobecoSAM Sustainability Yearbook.
  • We consolidated the Transmission Branch in Colombia (with a regionalized operating model), which, together with TGI, ensures the presence and permanent relations in 311 municipalities in the country.
  • Cálidda set a record for the number of customers in Peru with 952,653.
  • In Colombia, we acquired the Betania (230 kV) and Tuluní (230 kV) projects.
  • Together with the Spanish company Red Eléctrica Internacional, we started the process to acquire in equal parts 100% of the Brazilian electricity transmission company (ARGO) Empreendimentos e Participaciones S.A.

Transmission and Transport
Electric energy transmission in Colombia Our Transmission Business has a market share of 20%
Electric energy transmission in Peru We are market leaders with market share of 67.8% through ISA REP* and ISA Transmantaro*, in which we hold shareholdings of 40%.
Electric energy transmission in Guatemala We are leaders with market share of 22.6% thanks to our Trecsa and Eebis companies.
Electric energy transmission in Brazil We have 1.35% of the electric energy transmission market: 0.6% with Gebbras and 0.7% con Argo**.
Natural gas transport in Colombia Through our company TGI, we are leaders in Colombia with 54% market share. In addition, 37.5% of Colombia's connected users with Promigas.
Distribution
Electric energy distribution in Colombia In Colombia, our market share is 23.9% through our shareholdings of 51.5% and 16.2%, in Codensa* and EMSA*, respectively.
Electric energy distribution in Peru We entered this business with the acquisition of Electro Dunas, with which we have 4% of the market share, and Cantalloc, which is in charge of marketing.
Natural gas distribution Through our companies Cálidda and Contugas, in Peru we have 78.1% market share. In Colombia we have 32.1% of the market share with our 25% share in Vanti.
Generation
Electric energy generation in Colombia Our market share in Colombia is 20.2% through our 51.5% shareholdings in Emgesa.*
Electric energy generation in Peru We have 38 MW of installed capacity with Peru Power.

Recognitions

GEB
We were recognized as an "attractive employer and an example in the country" by Great Place to Work, who described our work environment as "very satisfactory".

We went from position 97 to 79 in the corporate reputation ranking and from 98 to 54 in social responsibility and corporate governance of Monitor Merco.

We were recognized with the 2Way Goodwill Award. During the last three years we climbed 56 positions to number 7.

For the eighth consecutive year we were one of the best sustainability performers in the world according to the Dow Jones Sustainability Index.

CÁLIDDA
For the second consecutive year, it was part of the Merco ranking of the 100 companies with the best reputation. Climbed 18 positions to number 24.

CONTUGAS
Nutricontugas received the Corresponsables Award for Best social initiatives in Peru.

TRECSA
It received the ISO 9001:2015 Certification becoming the first transport company in Central America with this recognition.

Energy for peace
ANDI gave us the Inspiring Company 2019 recognition.

Women Economic Forum gave us the Iconic Companies that Create a Better World for Everyone award.

We received a recognition from the Women Together organization.

The Colombian government gave us recognition for good practices in environmental and social management in the mining-energy sector.

For the sixth consecutive year, we have a recognition of investor relations by the Colombian Securities Exchange for our practices in information disclosure and relation with Investors.
